Update: May 2008
My thrid concesutive contract with npower runs out at the end of this month and this time I'm keeping my options open. If you have a job in mind for me please get in touch.
Some useful details for you to know:
Here is a breakdown of the skills I can offer:
- I create accessible websites which comply to W3C, DDA and WAI recommendations
- I create pure CSS designs (no tables or spacer images etc)
- All my pages validate to XHTML Strict
- Excellent knowledge of cross browser compatibility issues
- I create accessible templates for databases and CMS systems
- I create templates for newsletters, letterheads and sideshows
- I create wire frame's of the web pages in Photoshop
- I give the presentations on the work created. I am the face behind the company
- I can convert images like psd's or jpg's into web page templates
- I use DreamWeaver, Notepad, Photoshop and Image ready on a daily basis
- CMS systems used include Merant's Collage and Oracle's Stellent
All the websites shown on my portfolio have been completely created by myself. This includes all logos, graphic work and html coding.
My last employer had me leading a small team dealing with developing web sites for multi Million Euro European Commission FP6 projects. Part of the role in the company was traveling around Europe giving presentations to the project members. The people are often the leading experts in their field.
All my sites comply with W3C, WAI and Watchfire recommendations. I design each web site using XHTML and they all validate to Strict.
I have been creating web sites since 1997 and I have kept up-to-date with all technologies as they come along.
I ran a restaurant for 3 years managing 45 members of staff and I was also a Section Office for the Devon & Cornwall police for 9 years in charge of 12 other Special Constables. These two roles were the key in my leadership and managerial skills. Both jobs were high pressure so I also learnt how to cope working under pressure during those years.
I am very motivated, extremely honest and I would bring a considerable amount of knowledge and leadership skills to any project.
See my C. V. page for more details.
